Month 4 - Retightening

Just had my locks retightened in this photo. If I weren't so frustrated with the poor quality of my camera, I would have posted some additional pics. I am on the search for a new one. In the mean time, I wanted to at least post a pic for month 4. My consultant has given me the official go-ahead to begin trimming my hair...I think I'll wait. She has also given me the 'ok' to begin looking at coloring. Yeah! I've been looking forward to this time! I'm going to try to take it slow, however. My last exposure to color was not what I'd hoped. I surely don't want to be disappointed again. So, I'm off to research some qualified hairdressers with coloring skills!

Your curl sets are always so cute. Make sure you get someone that knows what they are doing with the color. Remember to wash over and over. And rinse over and over. Can't wait to see the results.

BTW, your locks are looking really nice and healthy! Where does the shine come from?

I need to tell you that watching your Sisterlocks is really encouraging for me. I have some relaxed ends left on mine (after cutting off over 8 inches). It was a very hard transition for me. But, I like your hair. It is pretty!

Ree-C - Thanks! I'm trying to make the best of my relaxer transition. I think I've finally found a system of keeping my locks under control during this period. Still...everyday is trial and error! ;-)) Thanks so much for the coloring tips too! I've not found anyone yet, but I'm still looking. Seems as though I'll need to venture outside of my immediate area - not too many beauticians who deal with natural hair around here.

LaChanda - Thanks for the update. I like the new screen name! I'm making the change right now. I wasn't sure about the protocol of adding links to people's blogs - I just hoped it was ok to add since I really find them to be so helpful and inspirational! Thanks too for the kind words...I wish I knew where the shine comes from, but I will say that initially, the thought of not being able to oil my hair for 6-months was quite daunting at first. I'm glad to know it's not as bad as I'd thought it would be! ;-)

Ama Alisa - Wow! 8 inches...and still some left over?? You are surely blessed! I thank you for the kind words. I'm glad to know there are people out there like me!! We can support each other through this transition! I like your blog - I'm adding your blog link to my page if that's ok. Can't wait to see more pics of your progress!

Thanks Ms. Chosen Vessel and Ms. Goodnaps! I guess I'll keep doing what I'm doing! ;-))
